- These jobs vary from a couple of months to a full day to a few hours work. The jobs will vary from Warehouse (Outpost Centre) duties, Count Staff, Polling Officials, Supervisors, Officers in Charge, Data Entry, Transportation and a whole lot more. Pay rates will vary and there is a link when doing the Registration to see. With everyone having various availability, skills and interest we aim to ensure that all placements will be successful
- It is likely that the Election will be March or Early May, therefore it is URGENT that we get as many ‘Registrations of Interest’ as possible before Christmas. Provisional Placements for all job roles are currently being finalised!! (To date we have provisionally placed 175 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People) We are hoping to have 349 employed for the Election
- https://www.aec.gov.au/employment/working-at-elections/ is a useful link
- We are also aiming to ensure that the Polling Places at all Federal Elections will be as culturally suitable as possible. By having a high presence of Aboriginal People employed at these places we hope that it will be a more friendly and culturally appropriate event! Our current Reconciliation Action Plan can be found on our website www.aec.gov.au
